This qualification equips individuals to work within community, home, or residential care environments, operating under supervision as part of a collaborative team. They deliver personalised care based on an individualised plan to support people facing challenges related to ageing, disability, or other circumstances. These professionals are accountable for their tasks within the scope of their role, applying a blend of practical skills, technical know-how, and a foundational understanding to ensure quality care.
Purpose
The purpose of this course is to prepare individuals to deliver high-quality, person-cantered care in community, home, or residential settings. It aims to equip participants with the essential skills, knowledge, and practical experience needed to support individuals who require assistance due to aging, disability, or other circumstances, ensuring they can work effectively as part of a care team within the guidelines of industry standards and regulations.
This course has the following entry Requirements:
Age: Applicants must be 18 years or older at the time of the course commencement
Academic: Applicants must have completed at least the equivalent of year 10
English Proficiency:
The course is delivered in 52 weeks (including 120 hours of work placement. The course also requires the completion of 120 hours of work placement, providing students with real-world experience in a care setting.
Additionally, students will have 8 weeks of scheduled breaks interspersed throughout the year
After completing this course, graduates can immediately enter the workforce in roles such as Aged Care Worker, Disability Support Worker, Home Care Assistant, or Community Support Worker. Graduates may choose to further their education by pursuing higher qualifications, such as the CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability, Certificate IV in Ageing Support, or other related qualifications in the community services sector. This can lead to more advanced roles and greater career opportunities within the healthcare and social services industries.
On successful completion of this course, the student will be awarded CHC33021 – Certificate III in Individual support which is nationally recognized qualification

If a certificate with a statement of results or a statement of attainment is produced and verified, a credit transfer process will be initiated by Global Institute of Education in relation to the units as per the training plan
