This qualification is designed for individuals working in various community settings and homes, providing
support that helps people with disabilities gain more independence, self-reliance, community involvement, and overall well-being. Workers adhere to a person- centered approach, follow an individualised plan, and operate independently without direct supervision.
Supervising and coordinating a small team may be part of their responsibilities.
It is essential to apply the skills in this qualification in accordance with relevant legislation, Australian
standards, and industry codes of practice.
There are currently no licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements associated with this
qualification.
Purpose
The purpose of this course is to prepare individuals to deliver high-quality, person-cantered care in community, home, or residential settings. It aims to equip participants with the essential skills, knowledge, and practical experience needed to support individuals who require assistance due to aging, disability, or other circumstances, ensuring they can work effectively as part of a care team within the guidelines of industry standards and regulations.
This course has the following entry Requirements:
The total duration of this course is 20 weeks, including 120
hours of vocational placement. This timeframe includes a
combination of structured classroom learning, hands-on
practical training, and mandatory workplace
The course is delivered through a blend of face-to-face classroom instruction and practical training. Students engage in interactive lectures, group activities, and hands-on exercises to build their knowledge and skills
Students who complete this course may wish to continue their education into the CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support , CHA43215 Certificate IV in Alcohol and other drugs and Diploma of community services
On successful completion of this course, the student will be awarded CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability support which is nationally recognized qualification
