Global Institute of Education has determined the course duration of eight (8) weeks is appropriate to the target student cohort. Training is delivered face to face at our training facility.

Purpose

This qualification will provide students with the skills, knowledge and competencies required to safely perform security operations in a range of different contexts. This course is designed to meet requirements for students seeking to apply for an unarmed security officer’s license in Queensland. An unarmed security officer personally guards, patrols or watches another person’s property. They do this without a guard dog or weapon.

The CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations prepares new employees or recognises and develops existing workers for entry to the security operations sector. Clients will generally have an aptitude towards security operations. The qualification has core unit of competency that cover common skills for the security unarmed security officer, as well as the specialisation of crowd control. The security industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to a qualification must be undertaken in a real or very close to real simulated environment and this qualification requires all units of competency to be delivered in this context.

There are no formal entry requirements for the CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations course
However, students will:

Licensing

Legislation in Queensland requires persons working as a security provider to be licensed. The Office of Fair Trading administers and issues licenses to successful applicants. Successful completion of CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations is a mandatory requirement for licensing.

While CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations is the minimum requirement, various other competencies are required for multiple function license including Cash-in-Transit, Bodyguard, Dog Patrol etc.
